One thing I really enjoy about the covers is the use of acts and brings colours contrasted with negative space

I hope to use this effect somewhere else inside my magazine

The international scene seems to be very vibrant however it lacks variety and uniqueness

LOCAL RESEARCH

 Not many Local magazines that target the audience of creatives,

These are what I could find:

Music and Culture magazine across East Africa

Doesnt provide avenue for artists who do other crafts

(not kenyan)

Tribal magazine

"Tribal Art magazine is a quarterly publication devoted to the arts and cultures of the traditional societies of Africa, Oceania, Asia, and the Americas."

Very Limited

( not kenyan )

To conclude:

Yes there are existing art magazines in the semi local scene, however there is non that directly targets the artists/creatives within Kenya

IDEA DECISION

 After going through the three possibilities i concluded a arts, crafts & culture magazine would be the best option

The decision was made for the following reasons:

• many local creatives with few broadcasting outlets
• hobby magazines have crossover topics with arts and crafts magazines 
• Sports is more covered in the local community and I would like to create a voice for those who love to create
